The process
A thorough desktop review of peers and competitors’ sustainability and ESG communications and strategy materials was completed – with the aim to spark interest in the art of the possible for the gategroup ESG strategy in due course.
For the materiality assessment, Black Sun conducted an on-line survey with 20 individuals, followed-up with external stakeholder interviews with key customers of the business and then completed analysis and evaluation of all the findings.
The results
The final stage of the ESG strategy development was a series of focus sessions and C-suite ESG workshops to tease out the objectives and targets.
All of the above insights provided a foundation and structure for gategroup to build their ESG strategy. This was upon and commence the cascade to stakeholders, within and outside of the business, including the design and development of the strategy wheel including developing an ESG narrative for the business.
