Black Sun client, Uralkali, won the award for ‘Best Annual Report – private sector’ at the CorpComms Awards 2014. Uralkali’s Integrated Report was commended for a number of best-in-class reporting achievements.
In particular, the panel of judges praised the report for presenting a clear and transparent story, first setting the scene before delving into its strategic goals. Special mention went to both the chairman and chief executive’s statements for their honest and comprehensive summaries of the year in review, including challenges and solutions. The report was applauded for clearly setting out the business context and the role played by the potash industry, using charts and imagery to explain the business model. The panel were impressed that Uralkali is the only Russian mining company to produce an integrated report and also commended the accompanying microsite.
The judges commented on the easy-to-follow information in both Russian and English, saying ‘There were clear links for further information. This was a nicely designed report with great imagery.’

The ceremony took place at the Troxy last night, celebrating achievements in corporate communications across a broad range of categories.
