With growing noise around the upcoming COP28 in Dubai on 30 November and both King Charles III and Pope Francis set to attend, Black Sun revisits why this matters and why it is important for your business.

What is it all about?

COP stands for Conference of the Parties and is an intergovernmental conference that has been running under the UN for 28 years, focusing on climate. The 2015 COP Summit was a landmark one, which resulted in the Paris Agreement, where all countries agreed to work together to limit global warming to well below 2 ºC and aim for 1.5 ºC above pre-industrial levels, to adapt to the impacts of a changing climate and to make funds available to deliver on these aims.
