A4S: Finance Leaders' Sustainability Barometer

Over the last 12 months, Accounting for Sustainability (A4S),  with the support of Black Sun and Deloitte, has surveyed finance leaders to gauge, at a global level, the current understanding and attitudes of finance leaders toward embedding sustainability into their decision-making processes. We are delighted to have published a report of the findings which can be viewed on our website. Key findings include:

·       Decision-making is still lagging behind ambitions. One in five do not consider sustainability-related
        information when making decisions.

·       CFOs understand their role but need to address the skills gap. Less than half believe their team has the right skills.

·       Board ambitions are not matching day-to-day operations. 76% of Group CFOs said they back ambition,
        but only 33% of more junior counterparts perceive this from their Group CFO.

·       Nature is falling behind as a priority as climate and social factors take precedence. Half of the respondents
        believe they had made little or no progress in mitigating biodiversity loss.
