Black Sun partners with FRC for future of governance and reporting webinar

For the fifth year running, Stakeholder Communications Agency Black Sun and the Financial Reporting Council (FRC) will partner today to present the webinar, “What’s next for the FRC, governance and reporting”.

“What’s next for the FRC, governance and reporting” will explore what’s next in terms of corporate reform to protect and promote the interests of investors, other users of corporate reporting, and the wider public interest.

The event will also discuss what the Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy (BEIS) recent consultation into “Restoring trust in audit and corporate governance: proposals on reforms” means for the FRC as it transitions into the Audit, Reporting and Governance Authority (ARGA).

Black Sun and the FRC agree that trust is even more important to investors and other stakeholders to have confidence in the UK as a great place to do business, and a large part of this is based on the reliability of the information companies are providing today to support the broader economy.

Black Sun’s Chief Insight and Engagement Officer, Sallie Pilot said “Black Sun’s Chief Insight and Engagement Officer, Sallie Pilot said “We are delighted to continue our partnership with the FRC on this annual event to provide direction to corporates on the whole ecosystem - governance, reporting, audit and changing needs for information. An overview of the direction of travel, recognising the international context in which reform and wider challenges and opportunities sit is critical for our global client base, as the FRC transitions to the Reporting and Governance Authority (ARGA).”

FRC’s Director of Stakeholder Engagement, Kate O’Neill said “The FRC is delighted to participate in the fifth year of this important event with Black Sun to update on all of the busy agenda of the FRC during 2021, not least the progress of the government’s consultation on audit reform but also other important outputs of our corporate governance and stewardship activities.”
