Investor Relations Society launches the 2018 Best Practice Awards

The Investor Relations Society today announced its 2018 Best Practice Awards with the launching of a new award category for ‘Most effective integration of ESG’. Now in their 18th year, the Awards recognise those companies that have demonstrated their strong understanding of, and proactive efforts to promote clear and consistent investor communications.

Sallie Pilot, Chair of the Best Practice Committee at IR Society commented, "The experience, involvement and collaboration of our diverse Best Practice Committee helps ensure that the Awards remain meaningful, relevant and have a broader reach across the profession. The new award for ‘Most effective integration of ESG’ reflects the increasing recognition from wider stakeholders that ESG factors are material to financial performance. We encourage entries for the Awards to demonstrate this by including both financial and material non-financial factors as part of their overall approach to best practice investor communications."

The self-entry Awards’ categories comprise six areas open to FTSE 100, FTSE 250, Small Cap & AIM, and international companies, that will encourage and reward best practice in investor communications: IR teams can now submit self-entries for awards rewarding best practice in investor relations in the following five categories:

  • The Grand Prix award: Best overall communication of company investment proposition
  • Best annual report
  • Most effective integration of ESG (new category!)
  • Best digital communications
  • Best IPO IR communications

The Voted Awards, which recognise excellence in team investor relations and individuals, the IR Society is working in partnership with Extel, an Institutional Investor company. The categories now accepting nominations are the following:

  • Best newcomer to IR (individual)
  • Best IRO (individual)
  • Best overall company IR (company)
  • Best Investor Engagement (investor) 

The panel of esteemed judges, professionals within the investor relations community, are looking forward to receiving this year’s entries before the closing date of 30 June, 2018.
