Developing a winning IR toolkit

Sallie Pilot, Chief Insight & Engagement Officer at Black Sun, was recently featured in the IR Society’s INFORMED journal.

The article considers best practice in IR and shares tips on how to win an award at the Society’s November dinner.

During the summer, the IR Society welcomed a record number of IR professionals and guests to its 32nd annual conference – ‘IR: Future-proofing business’. Setting the scene for the panel discussion was a recent survey by Rivel demonstrating the impact of good IR stating: ‘75% of the buy side believe good IR affects company valuation; and poor IR can result in up to a 20% share price discount’. With companies facing an unprecedented challenge in relation to marketing their investment proposition to investors, the key themes identified stressed the importance of curating information carefully, articulating your message clearly, and using technology.
