Black Sun recognised by the Lord Mayor’s Dragon Awards

The Lord Mayor's Dragon Awards has released a shortlist for 2018, and Black Sun are delighted to be a finalist for Business of Trust Champion Award

Black Sun are proud to be shortlisted from over 30 entries for this inaugural Award, launched to celebrate the Lord Mayor’s theme for the 2018 Mayoral year. The Business of Trust Champion Award celebrates businesses that care about the impact of low levels of public trust in business and are championing responsible business practices to create a lasting legacy of better business trusted by society.

Motivated by the belief that trust provides a business’s social license to operate, Black Sun has driven businesses towards increased transparency in all forms of communication and reporting. Black Sun gently nudges companies towards better disclosure and views communications as an opportunity to go beyond legislative requirements and tell truly holistic corporate stories.

The Award recognises how organisations are responding to widespread evidence that public trust in business is low. It evidences how business care about this issue, and how shows how organisational changes and behaviours can increase trust, championing the positive role that business can play in society.

David Christopherson, CEO at Black Sun said “We are delighted to be shortlisted for the 2018 Lord Mayors Dragon Awards. As a company, we have never wavered on the importance of trust in creating meaningful communications, so it is wonderful to know that our positive influence on a range of businesses and the reporting industry as a whole, has been recognised.”

The Awards winner will be announced at dinner on 25th September. At this prestigious event, applicants will share experiences and innovative practices in Responsible Business. It is an opportunity to find out more about ways in which London-based businesses are actively helping to fight social exclusion and build stronger communities.

Since they were founded in 1987, the Awards have attracted high quality applications from a variety of organisation and public bodies throughout Greater London including; Barclays, PWC LLP, IBM, J Sainsbury Plc and City & Guilds to name a few.
