Building Stakeholder Engagement with De Beers Group

De Beers Group has recently released its latest ‘Report to Society’, highlighting the progress it has made towards a truly sustainable future. It features prominently in the newly enhanced Building Forever section of its corporate website, developed with stakeholder communications company Black Sun Plc.

The information that De Beers Group has illuminated through its digital communications is breaking new ground, highlighting how it is communicating with its stakeholders in a more engaging, narrative-driven way.

One of the big developments is the Issue Areas section, which features an interactive element that communicates the company's position on sustainability issues material to its business. De Beers Group's stance on important issues, such as the environment and society, can be explored through key statistics, news stories and enhanced charting tools that tie together its approach to 'Building Forever', while digital infographics highlight its Performance in addressing these issues.

In the Stakeholder Engagement area, the company explains how it is working hard to understand and address all stakeholder interests.

"We do all we can to engage with our many different stakeholders, including local communities, employees, governments, trade unions, suppliers, industry bodies, civil society including NGOs, academia, shareholders and consumers." (De Beers Group, 2017)

Black Sun's latest digital research found that the sustainability areas of corporate websites have seen the most improvement in the past year, as companies invest more in telling their sustainability story to a broader audience and realise the power of digital communications in helping to achieve this.

"We are delighted to have worked closely with De Beers Group in developing the 'Building Forever' section of its website, which is now one that leads the field in telling an effective sustainability story," says Richard Dixon, Chief Digital Officer, Black Sun Plc.
