Bakkavor Group wins Excellence in Reporting award from PwC

Bakkavor Group was recently recognised at the PwC 'Building Public Trust in Corporate Reporting' Awards, winning in the 'Excellence in Reporting in Private Business' category. A first-time nominee, Bakkavor Group's report was described by the independent judging panel as a 'well-presented and highly readable annual report set apart by its detailed insights into the company’s supply chain'.
Participating and nominated organisations across the Charity, FTSE 350, Private Business and Public sectors all demonstrated a strong sense of purpose and the ability to differentiate their businesses from others through the use of best practices within their annual reporting communications.
In addition to the Bakkavor report 'providing a clear overview purpose and contribution to society' it also conveys a 'strong linkage between the business’s focus areas and principal stakeholders' according to the announcement from PwC. One judge described Bakkavor Group's clarity stating: “This is a clear and thorough introduction to a business whom most people know little about,” Another member of the judging panel went on to say: “The sense of drive, purpose and performance prudently managed is palpable.” One judge described Bakkavor's succinct and values-driven articulation within the Annual Report as coming across "Very clearly" and going to say that the work in the community is very impressive, as is its attention to the quality of its products.
Simon Henderson, Managing Director at Black Sun Plc, commented: "Our congratulations to the Bakkavor team in winning this prestigious award for best practice corporate communications. We’re delighted that their commitment to demonstrate how the company creates value for a range of stakeholders has been externally recognised and look forward to supporting them on the development of the 2017 Annual Report.”
