Exploring Online Annual Reporting: Black Sun’s analysis of the FTSE 100

Black Sun has released an analysis of FTSE 100 Online Annual Reporting activity and trends, updated to include the September 2013 year ends in response to the new Companies Act 2006 (Strategic Report and Directors’ Report) Regulations 2013.

Our analysis looks at how well the report is signposted within the site, where it is housed, the format of the report and then goes on to look at the features and interactivity contained within them. It provides a full analysis of the September year ends, this year versus last, and compares this with the analysis we conducted mid-2013.

In essence it is a tale of two strategies – those who simply put a pdf online and have little consideration for the digital user experience, and those who leverage the content of the report to enhance their corporate story and exploit digital media to deliver their key messages.

With our long heritage and proven track record in corporate reporting and digital communications, you will also find our conclusions and recommendations for online reporting and how best to deliver a quality user experience.
