Black Sun Director speaks at the GARI International Conference

Black Sun’s Sallie Pilot was delighted to be asked to speak at the Henley Centre for Governance, Accountability and Responsible Investment (GARI) this week. In its second year, the GARI international conference aims to bring together accountability and corporate governance professionals to discuss sector developments, release research and share experiences.

This year’s conference focused on institutional investor demand for disclosure of environmental, social and governance information to make informed investment decisions. The three day event reflected on growing interest and commitment to ‘responsible’ investment and Integrated Reporting as well as broader stakeholder accountability.

GARI acts as a forum for collaborative research into corporate governance, focusing on accountability, including responsible investment, shareholder activism, transparency issues and Integrated Reporting.

Black Sun’s Director of Research and Strategy presented on the topic of ‘Demystifying Integrated Reporting’ providing practical insights on why it is important, how to approach it, what good looks like and the benefits.

Sallie said “The conference provided a great backdrop to bring professionals and academics together to discuss and shape the future of governance and corporate accountability.”

She added, “The growth of Integrated Reporting reflects demand for transparent disclosure and the desire for a more holistic approach towards corporate governance and reporting. It was exciting to see so much interest and enthusiasm for this kind of integrated thinking.”
