Supporting the next steps in Integrated Reporting

Black Sun has been working closely with the IIRC on producing the Consultation Draft of the International Integrated Reporting Framework released on 16 April.

The Consultation represents the next milestone in the IIRC’s mission to develop a best practice framework for future reporting.

Those with an interest in Integrated Reporting have until 15 July 2013, to respond to the draft, with the IIRC calling on stakeholders to ‘understand it, challenge it, critique it’.

This document is the latest in a series of IIRC materials that we have supported, helping them to present the content as clearly as possible. We worked with the IIRC to develop their initial discussion paper on Towards Integrated Reporting and, more recently, we designed their background papers.

As well as design work, we have also developed the Emerging Integrated Reporting Database which showcases examples of companies that are making progress in line with the draft Framework. Black Sun is responsible for the review and selection of examples which demonstrate the guiding principles and content elements set out by the IIRC. Since its launch in September 2012, the database has attracted over 7,300 unique visitors from more than 100 different countries, viewing over 83,000 pages.

In addition, we are part of a major research project into the experiences of companies on the IIRC’s Pilot Programme. The first part of this research, entitled ‘Understanding Transformation: Building the business case for Integrated Reporting’ was published in November 2012.

We continue to track the journey towards best practice reporting worldwide and to support our clients in achieving their reporting ambitions.
