We are pleased to announce that our clients have been well represented in the shortlist for both the  renowned IR Society Best Practice Awards and the prestigious ICSA Hermes Transparency in Governance Awards, both of which were announced last week.

The IR Society Best Practice Awards, now in their 11^th year, encourage the adoption of best practice by recognising those companies and individuals that lead the way in the practice of investor communication. It is hoped that the winners and other shortlisted companies will provide a benchmark against which other companies can measure their own IR activities.

BAE Systems have been shortlisted for the ‘Best communication of strategy, performance and KPI’s in the Annual Report’. They have also been recognised for the ‘Best communication of governance and risk in the Annual Report’ alongside second time nominee African Barrick Gold. Mining giant, Xstrata have again been nominated for the award which they proudly took home last year for ‘Best communication of corporate responsibility in the Annual Report’. Winners for the awards will be announced on Tuesday 20th November at the IR Society Annual Dinner and Best Practice Awards ceremony which will be held at the Tower of London. This year the ceremony will feature Right Honorable Michael Portillo, former secretary of State for Defence as guest speaker and compere for the evening.

In their fourth year, the ICSA Hermes Transparency in Governance Awards are regarded as a benchmark of quality in corporate reporting standards at a time when regulators, investors and politicians are seeking evidence of robust disclosure performance. 

Amongst the companies shortlisted for theses awards are BAE Systems for ‘Best Annual Report’ and’ Best Board Disclosure’ and Tullow Oil for Best strategy and risk disclosure’. The awards will be presented at a black-tie dinner hosted by publisher and broadcaster, Andrew Neil on Wednesday the 14^th of November andthis year's guest speaker will be Baroness Hogg, Chairman of the Financial Reporting Council.
