Black Sun welcome Dominic Walters as Digital Director

Black Sun are delighted to announce that Dominic Walters has joined the team in the role of Digital Director. In this position, he will use his extensive experience to develop Black Sun’s digital offer for clients, helping them evolve their digital strategies through a wide range of channels including corporate websites, mobile devices, online annual reports and online CSR reports – utilising our latest innovative technologies and best practice approaches.

He has extensive integrated communications experience having worked across a range of sectors and disciplines over the past 16 years. He entered the digital landscape when he co-founded photoshop.com in 1998 opening offices in London and Milan. Following this, he moved to Hong Kong to manage the marketing communications for the launch of PizzaExpress (Hong Kong) Limited’s first move into the region including their local website.

In 2004 he joined BAE Systems where he held a number of senior communications roles and was responsible, in 2007, for defining and delivering its global digital strategy for external websites resulting in a consistent online brand, a decentralised editorial process and a fully implemented content management strategy.

More recently, while completing an MSc in Digital Marketing and writing a dissertation on Government messaging across social media, he consulted to a number of businesses including BreakingViews prior to its acquisition by Thomson Reuters.

“Dominic’s experience of working within, and consulting to, FTSE 100 businesses combined with his knowledge of delivering complicated digital stakeholder solutions brings an exciting new set of skills and thought leadership to this ever evolving team”. said David Christopherson, CEO, Black Sun.

Dominic commented: “Black Sun has developed a strong reputation for delivering consistently well designed, considered and strategic solutions for its clients and I am very excited to be joining this team to evolve the digital offer and build an equally strong reputation for the digital side of the business”.
