Big night for Black Sun clients at the IR Society Awards
The Investor Relations Society Best Practice Awards, which took place on Tuesday the 22nd of November, proved a huge success with Black Sun clients Tullow Oil and Xstrata being heralded for their hard work and dedication to developing their Corporate Reporting.
Tullow Oil was triumphant in winning the award for ‘Best communication of governance and risk in the Annual Report’ whilst highly commended Xstrata was held victorious in their category taking home the award for ‘Best communication of corporate responsibility in the Annual Report’.
In addition to these awards our clients, BAE Systems and African Barrick Gold were also amongst the nominations on the night.
Now in their 10th year, the prestigious Best Practice Awards – which is the main highlight of the IR Calendar – was originally created to encourage best practice in communications through the web site although in latter years has been extended to include both on-line and printed communication in key areas of the business review. The awards exist to honor those companies that lead the way in the practice of investor communication and it is hoped that the winners and other shortlisted companies serve as a benchmark against which other companies can measure their own IR activities for the future.
On behalf of all at Black Sun, we would like to extend our congratulations to the teams at Tullow Oil and Xstrata on their fantastic achievement and also BAE Systems and African Barrick Gold for their individual nominations and to all for continuing to set the standard for best practice in corporate reporting!
