Tullow Oil win ‘Grand Prix’ at IR Society Awards
Building on their success at the 2008 awards, where Tullow Oil impressed the judges by claiming the award for Most Improved Annual Report, they have picked up the highly sought-after FTSE 100 Award for the most effective overall Annual Report both in print and online at the 2009 awards.
For this year’s winning annual report, the judges were looking for a report that showed the most effective combination of printed and on-line communication; demonstrated a clear integration between the printed and on-line reports; showed innovation in the production of their accounts (appropriate to their company size and budgets); and included all of the key elements for printed and on-line reports as outlined in the Society's guidelines.
The Investor Relations Society commented, “Tullow Oil integrated relevant content and honest disclosure with good design. The company discussed its industry and markets effectively and linked its performance and growth opportunities to the company’s vision and strategy. The online and printed versions worked well together. Last year Tullow had the most improved annual report and accounts, this year it has pipped the others to the Grand Prix.”
David Christopherson, CEO of Black Sun comments, “It is a great achievement to produce a report that won the Most Improved Annual Report but to come back the very next year to be given the Grand Prix of awards is a testament to the understanding and commitment that Tullow Oil and Black Sun have in developing powerful integrated solutions and communications in line with best practice corporate reporting.”
Congratulations on their continued success!
