Merged Taylor Wimpey appoints Black Sun

Following a competitive pitch, Taylor Wimpey plc has appointed Black Sun Plc to produce their 2007 Annual Report and Corporate Responsibility Report.

Taylor Wimpey plc is the UK’s leading homebuilder, formed through the merger of Taylor Woodrow plc and George Wimpey Plc on 3 July 2007. The company has operations in the UK  North America, Spain and Gibraltar and aims to be the homebuilder of choice for their customers, employees, shareholders and for the communities in which they operate.

Taylor Wimpey is a new company with a new identity. Formed from a merger of equals, it is essential that the design of the reports has a strong sense of the corporate identity and reflects the reality of being one combined business, whilst maintaining links with the heritage of both of the businesses.

Having successfully worked with George Wimpey on their corporate reports over the past 6 years Black Sun has an in depth knowledge of their business, issues and challenges.  This knowledge coupled with their wealth of experience in corporate reporting, positioned them as an ideal partner to help Taylor Wimpey produce their first Annual and Corporate Responsibility Reports.

Jonathan Drake, Investor Relations Manager at Taylor Wimpey, says: “Both Taylor Woodrow and George Wimpey were happy with their incumbent corporate reporting suppliers.  Following the merger and our promotion into the FTSE100, we were looking for a partner who could provide us with strategic guidance and best practice information.”

David Christopherson, Chief Executive of Black Sun Plc, says: “We are excited to be working with a forward-looking company such as Taylor Wimpey and helping them to produce corporate reports in line with current best practice which communicate effectively with both their internal and external audiences.”
