IR Magazine - Reporting quality shoots up among top 100
LONDON -- The quality of narrative reporting at FTSE 100 companies has increased significantly in the past year, according to a new survey conducted by Black Sun corporate reporting.
Some 79% of FTSE 100 companies now report on financial KPIs, up from 56%, and 53% of companies in this category also report non-financial KPIs, up from 31% this time last year.
Marked improvements have been noted in the way that reports are crafted. The agency praised the greater emphasis on 'content relating to market environment, strategy, risk management and business performance through the use of KPIs and forward looking information.'
Black Sun concluded that the overwhelming majority of UK FTSE 100 companies (98%) now 'clearly communicate' strategy.
The number of companies including objectives and business targets for their strategy has also doubled in the last year. In addition, some 63% of companies are linking their KPIs to their company's strategy.
